Apple: iPhone 16e Mumbai

Launch Event

My role was to design custom spaces, furniture, and fixtures to support interactive iPhone experiences that promoted the brand’s newest AI features, for the brand’s regional celebrity and influencer launch event. My approach was to create harmony between Apple’s polished and minimal aesthetic, while still remaining authentic to the more ornate and rustic visual cues of Mumbai.

Demo 1: Genmoji Room

This room highlighted the iPhone’s ability to create custom emojis by combining two emojis together. The overarching design theme made the room feel like a space for creativity, while paying homage to Mumbai’s own iconic illustrated characters. At the center, guests could roll a pair of dice, to combine two words to make their own emoji. The walls housed a mural and framed art by local artists. All of the furniture and fixtures were custom modeled to production spec by hand.

Demo 2: AI Camera Room

This room highlighted the iPhone’s ability to identify objects through its camera. The theme for this room was a reimagining of vendor carts in a Mumbai street market. The first cart was a nod to its many flower vendors. Guests could point their camera at a flower to identify it. The second cart was in partnership with a burlap bag company. Guests could use the camera to translate the signage into their respective languages. All of the furniture and fixtures were custom modeled to production spec by hand.
