Huda's Karak House

Huda Beauty: Pressed Powder Dubai

Global Launch Event

My role was to create a reimagined design of an authentic Dubai tea house inside the Burj Khalifa Armani Hotel, along with a hidden kitchen and secret tunnel that led influencers into a custom designed early 1900s speakeasy in the hotel’s ballroom.

The Karak (Tea) House

This space doubled as both a prefunction area and a surprise for influencers. In true speakeasy fashion, the tea house acted as the front that hid the glamorous venue behind it. My approach was to infuse the brand’s visual identity with the authentic cultural cues of Dubai Karak houses. The brand’s monogram became a mashrabiya patterned window, middle eastern carpet patterns and iconic plastic chairs were recolored in pink hues, cluttered photo walls became homages to past events, and even a space for grandpas to play backgammon at the tables.

The Kitchen & Secret Tunnel

Hostesses guided influencers behind the pastry counter to reveal a hidden kitchen stocked with branded Huda Beauty cooking ingredients. Behind the refrigerator door was a secret tunnel leading to the speakeasy. The biggest challenge was fitting both of these elaborate designs into the limited space of the venue, while also following the Burj Khalifa’s strict fire codes and safety protocol.
